With fuel prices skyrocketing to a predicted $4 (€2.50) a gallon in the US this summer, it’s no surprise to find that eco-friendly car rental is on the up and up in the United States. Enterprise Rent-A-Car in Atlanta Georgia has just announced the launch of four “Green Branches” at locations across the city. Hybrids and fuel-efficient vehicles will make up over half of the fleets at the four new outlets. Buckhead Area Enterprise Rent-A-Car leads the field by offering almost 50 hybrid rentals.
Commenting on the new fuel friendly additions, Dan Miller, vice president and general manager for Enterprise in Atlanta said: “With Atlanta ranking among the top cities in average commute times, customers of Enterprise’s metro Atlanta branches have expressed great interest in renting environmentally friendly vehicles, and we are responding by concentrating the largest number of hybrid and fuel-efficient vehicles possible at these four area branches. “
Enterprise’s four Atlanta locations are the first “Green Branches” to be opened by the company in the United States. In the past year, Enterprise has set up a total of eight “E85/Flexfuel” branches throughout the country. Enterprise is supplying as many of its Flexfuel vehicles as possible to pick-up points located near E85 fuel stations nationally, in order to build consumer awareness and increase the amount of cars being fuelled with E85.
