950th Time Lucky for Korean Driver

It’s common enough for most drivers not to pass their test first time…but imagine having to go through the rigmarole 950 times!
That’s how many attempts it took a South Korean woman to get her theory test right.
Cha Sa-soom finally passed her written exam this week – Wednesday November 4th after taking the test almost everyday since April 2005.
Local media are reporting that it was her 950th time to take the test. In South Korea it is a legal requirement for all drivers to pass their written test fully before being allowed out on the roads.
Just hazarding a guess, but does anyone else think the examiners took pity on her? Every day would have been like Groundhog Day – How did they keep coming up with ways to tell her she’d failed? “Sorry, not today, love”…“Oh, so close!”…“See you tomorrow…same time…same place…”

I paid for 10 driving lessons, I could not afford more, and then I took my driving test and failed. That was 20 years ago and I have not taken it again, partly because of the feeling of shame over failing, but having read this incredible story I have suddenly found a new sense of confidence, lol!

950 times and she scrapes a pass, how could anyone be that stupid?!! No, I think she was deliberately trying to set a record.
