Ryanair Adds New Routes

In these challenging times, hardly a day goes by when the airline industry doesn’t make the news.  Here’s the latest on some of Europe’s largest airlines:

Air France:

 www.airfrance.co.uk has discontinued its service between Heathrow and Los Angeles.  From summer 2009, the airline will begin flights from Heathrow to New York JFK.

Aegean Airlines:

www.aegeanair.com is to add a third daily flight from Stansted to Athens, beginning on December 15.

 

British Airways:

 www.ba.com will begin weekly flights from Gatwick to St Kitts from January 10 2009.  Return fares begin at £710 return, including taxes and charges.  The airline also plans to increase its flights from Heathrow to Dubai from 14 to 20 flights per week from March 29 and to up its services to Johannesburg from 14 to 19 flights a week from May 1.

Flybe:

(www.flybe.com) will be flying from Southhampton to Split and Dubrovnik for the first time next summer.  Saturday flights to Split will begin at £53.99 one way.  Sunday flights to Dubrovnik are available from £59.99.  Both fares are inclusive of taxes and charges.  The airline also plans to increase its number of weekly flights from Gatwick to the Isle of Man.
Jet2:

(www.jet2.com) will start flights from Newquay to Belfast International and Leeds Bradford next summer.  Twice weekly flights will begin between Belfast International and Newquay from May 24 and Leeds bradford to Newquay from May 27.  Fares start at £9.99 one-way, excluding taxes and charges.

Ryanair:

(www.ryanair.com) will launch services from Leeds Bradford to Alicante from October 28, with fares costing from £30, including taxes and charges.  The airline also recently added a Girona service from the same airport.

Wizz Air:

(www.wizzair.com) will begin flying from Luton to the Romanian city of Timisoara from October 27.  One-way fares cost from £29.99, including taxes and charges.
