We’re renting a car in Alicante in September.  Just wondering whether it is better to rent a car in Alicante Airport or at an off airport location?

Hi Chris

It all depends on your budget and comfort levels.  It is a well-known fact that it is cheaper to rent a car at a downtown location rather than at an airport.  However, picking up your car hire from a downtown office means you will have to get a taxi or public transport to reach your rental agent.  If you have a lot of luggage, this could mean more hardship for you.

In Alicante Airport, the pick-up desks are conveniently located close to baggage re-claim.  Make sure you have all the necessary documents ready for the agent including your passport, driver’s licence, booking confirmation, credit card (the one you booked with) and your insurance.

Where you choose to pick up really is up to you.
