American Airlines Returns To Schedule

Posted on April 14, 2008 by Fiona Hilliard

American Airlines has announced that its flight schedules have returned to normal following a week of cancellations.

In total, over 3,000 flights were cancelled as the airline was forced to ground its MD-80 aircraft due to wiring problems.

American Airlines has apologised to customers for the inconveniences caused and is offering refunds to those affected.

American Airlines grounded all 300 of its mid-range MD-80 aircraft on Tuesday to inspect faulty wiring in the wheel wells.

Aircraft have been gradually returning to service since then.

Last week’s grounded flights are expected to cost the airline tens of millions of dollars.
