Let’s take a peek inside the crazy world of travel writer extraordinaire La Carmina as she hits the sun-dappled streets of California with LA car rental  and Japan’s latest acting/modelling/singing sensation Sebastiano Serafini.

Who is this La Carmina?

La Carmina is a travel journalist for CNNGo.com. She is also the author behind the quirky La Carmina blog, where she lifts the lid on current Asian eccentricities, fashion trends and sub-cultures. There’s never a dull moment with La Carmina around. Her irreverent blogging style has impressed the likes of leading publications including The New Yorker, Washington Post, WWD, Village Voice, Cosmopolitan, Time Out New York and the LA Times. Having appeared on The Today Show and co-hosted an episode of Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern for the Travel Channel, Carmina is no stranger to the camera lens either.

So who is Sebastiano Serafini?

Sebastiano Serafini is a regular cast member in the Japanese TV drama, Nihonjin no shiranai nihongo. Sebastiano, (or Seba as he also likes to be called) is also a model, stylist and singer. The multi-talented star is a well-known face in Tokyo, Taiwan and Hong Kong and is hoping to make it big worldwide.

And what were the dynamic duo doing in LA?

La Carmina was accompanying Seba on a promotional tour of Las Angeles, California. Sebastiano is currently getting ready to launch his career stateside and had a number of appointments and photo shoots lined up. Fortunately, the pair brought along a video camera to capture all the thrills, spills and drama of their road trip adventure.
