It’s good news for UK car hire customers. You’ll actually save money (and petrol) by going shopping. UK supermarket chain, Asda has pledged to cut the cost of petrol at all 172 of its UK service stations from Friday.
Asda says the price of petrol would be reduced by 2p a litre to 92.2p, the cost of diesel will remain unchanged however and is due to stay at 106.9p per litre.
The company attributed the fall in prices to a drop in US demand for gasoline.
Commenting on the price cuts, Asda trading director, Darren Blackhurst said, “We are seeing further reductions in our cost price, which we’re immediately passing on to all of our consumers as we continue to lead down the price of petrol.
“Diesel costs remain high and leave no room for cuts at this stage.”
