Authorities Loosen Kenya Travel Ban

Argus Car Hire customers travelling to Kenya are advised to heed the following travel advise from the Foreign Office.  The Foreign Office has relaxed its advice on travel to Kenya but is still warning travellers to stay away from certain danger zones around the city.
On Friday, the Foreign Office said it no longer advised against all but essential travel to the African country, but is continuing to advise against travel to the Western and Nyaza provinces as well as the Rift Valley province between Narok and Kitale and the central business district of Kibera, Mathare and Eastleigh.  Areas of the capital Nairobi, Uhuru Park and Mombasa Town also remain under threat.

The Foreign Office has warned that the situation remains unsteady and unpredictable and has issued the following advice.  “If you are currently in Kenya you should exercise extreme caution and seek advice locally either from your tour operator of the local authorities, particularly if you need to travel.”

The FO added: “If you are currently in Kenya you should exercise extreme caution and seek advice locally either from your tour operator of the local authorities, particularly if you need to travel.”
