Bob Dylan to Voice GPS Directions

“I pity the fool who d’oh-nt mention the warrr.”
What do Homer Simpson, Mr T and John Cleese all have in common?
Before you go putting 2+2 together to come up with a catchphrase to rival the one above, let me reveal that they’ve all been lending their voices to GPS systems.
And now legendary folk singer Bob Dylan looks set to join them.
The “Highway 61″ singer said he has been approached more than once by manufacturers looking to market his raspy tones, a voice which one critic once famously compared to sandpaper.
Speaking about his latest venture he said: “You know I don’t usually tell people what I’m doing, but I’m talking to a couple of car companies about the possibility of being the voice of their GPS system.”
Several websites already offer impersonations of celebrity voices for download with Sean Connery, Ozzy Osbourne and David Hasselhoff among the top 3 for motorists who can’t stand monotonous Sat Nav voices.
Dylan readily admits that drivers following his directions may very well find the answers they are looking for to be just as abstract as the ones “blowin’ in the wind”. Commenting on his unique delivery style he said “I think it would be good if you are looking or directions and you heard my voice saying something like, “Left at the next street…No, right…You know what? Just go straight.”
