Brits Prefer Holidays To Presents

Posted on December 15, 2008 by Fiona Hilliard

Socks or sunshine this Christmas? Well I can reveal for a fact which one most people in the UK would go for. Nearly half of Brits would prefer a festive holiday than receive gifts this year.  According to a survey by Travelsupermarket.com, up to 46% said a getaway was better than presents.

The poll revealed that 21% were planning a foreign holiday this Christmas, with 11% going on a beach break.  That’s all very well, but what these people are missing is some joined up thinking.  Why don’t they get the best of both worlds and treat themselves to a holiday with some car hire thrown in for good measure.  Better still, buy that special someone a holiday.  It beats putting up with ice age-esque weather and/or lousy presents any day!
