Campervans Cool Again
Posted on January 08, 2009 by Fiona Hilliard
A mixture of economic doom and gloom and the plunging sterling against the euro is triggering a resurgence in “staycations”, camping and driving holidays at home in the UK.
Camping is enjoying something of a renaissance for the first time since the 1970s, as holidaymakers seek out new and cheaper ways of getting away.
According to Britain’s Caravan Club, holiday bookings have increased by 40 percent on last year.
Demand for campervan hire and motorhomes has not only been boosted by need to get back to basics since the economic downturn, it’s also been aided by the recent drop in petrol prices.
If you’re tempted by the prospect of taking to the open road, setting up camp wherever you please, you can find out more about renting a campervan by clicking here.
