Canada Calling (Again)

Posted on September 24, 2008 by enavarro

It was a 9-hour drive back to Ontario.  Nine hours on the road!  At least there were two of us so we were able to switch places halfway through.  We arrived in Ontario at 2pm local time. This would be the final leg of our trip, we only had three days left before we had to hand our car hire back.

I got a text from one of my friends.  She was working in the Royal Ontario Museum as a tour guide, so we met up with her and got a guided tour for free.  The museum is great but travelling back in time is tiring stuff, so we headed back to the hostel for a while to plan our next move.  We were lucky enough to get talking to a guy who knew somebody who knew somebody with tickets for a Yankees and Blue Jays game in Toronto Stadium.  That was tomorrow night’s entertainment sorted! The game was great and the atmosphere was even better.  The following day we did the must-do trip to Niagara Falls.  Up close, it’s beautiful (if a little deafening).  They have special guided tours called Maid of the Mist, where you go on a boat trip around the falls.  Money was running low so we couldn’t afford to splash out (excuse the pun), but we did get to follow a walk that runs behind the famous waterfall.
