Car Hire Proves A Bridge Too Far For Apprentice Michael Sophocles
Posted on May 28, 2008 by Fiona Hilliard
Would you rent a car from this man? We wouldn’t blame you. Resident ‘cat-with-nine-lives’, Michael Sophocles was spectacularly fired from BBC series The Apprentice last night after failing to persuade passers-by in London’s Portobello Road to rent a Ferrari from him.
The teams were challenged to a car hire task this week whereby a range of luxury cars including Ferraris, Aston Martins, Lamborghinis and a Pagini Zonda were offered to the public to rent for a number of hours or days.
Sir Alan Sugar fired 25-year old Sophocles after he brought in only one fifth of the opposition’s revenue.
The London Telesales executive narrowly avoided being sacked on several occasions, but it was his inability to remember the names of the top end cars that saw him finally getting the boot last night.
