Cruise Car Hire?
The Independence of the Seas is the largest cruise liner in the world and has recently launched from Southampton. Click here for a tour of the ship and see the scale involved.
This is one big ship with a length equal to five Boeing 747’s (1,112 Foot) and a height that will dwarf the Leaning Tower of Pisa (237 Foot).
Facilities onboard include a Onboard Surf Park (using over 34,000 gallons of water per minute), a full size Rockwall, Ice shows on the skating rink, Golf and of course a great big shopping forum so you can spend your cash.
I notice no car hire office mentioned at all but it is an increasing trend for cruise lovers to take a car for the day or two they are in port.
Car Hire for a single day will not break the bank and many suppliers have rental locations at or around the port so check for more details. So don’t limit yourself to climbing a rockwall on a boat - when you hit land take advantage and see as much of it as you can in the time allocated. Escaping the crowds has never been more true as a shore party from the Independence of the Seas would look like mass migration.
