Argus Car Hire would like to extend our congratulations to Fota Wildlife Park for scooping the Best Travel and Tourism Website 2010 award at last night’s Eircom Spiders in the Burlington Hotel, Dublin.

Judges were especially impressed by the site’s social media tools and how the company uses these tools to actively engage with visitors of all ages. 

Nominees at last night’s event were kept entertained by comedian Jimmy Carr.
Carr usually reserves his dark, deadpan humour for his  guests on Channel 4’s quiz, 8 out of 10 cats, but was equally at home berating audience members at Thursday night’s awards.

The awards are in their 15th year and celebrate Ireland’s leading business and community organisations for their outstanding achievements online throughout 2010.

There were a total of twenty categories in this year’s awards including three newcomers – Digital Editor Award, Best Mobile App Award and the Big Mouth Award.

ArgusCarHire.com proudly sponsored the Travel and Tourism award.  Competition was fierce between Heritage Week, Hostelworld.com, Ireland.com, Irish Ferries, Trim Castle by Net Affinity, Where to Eat, Fota Wildlife Park and the Fitzwilliam Hotel by Net Affinity.

Fota Wildlife proved worthy winners.  Congratulations again!
