Fuel Surcharges Cut Across the Board

Virgin Atlantic is following in the footsteps of British Airways by reducing its surcharges on all of its flights. Today’s reductions will save passengers up to £60 (€65) on a long-haul return flight in economy class.
The airline says the reductions follow a worldwide decline in the price of oil. The price of a barrel of crude oil fell earlier this month to $47, down $100 from its peak of $147 in July.
The announcement comes in the wake of BA’s decision to cut its fuel surcharges on long haul, European and domestic routes.
Meanwhile, Bmi announced earlier this week that it would be scrapping its short haul surcharge entirely. Good news for those hopping across the pond for the New Year sales!
