Argus Car Hire customers flying out of Heathrow’s Terminal Four are advised to prepare for severe delays due to problems with baggage handling software.
British Airways, the terminal’s main airline has gone as far as warning passengers that they may not be able to travel if they have luggage that needs to be checked-in.
Technical problems began on Tuesday and Airport operator BAA said it is working as hard as it can to repair the system. In the meantime, passengers are restricted to carrying two items of hand luggage.
Commenting on the situation, a BA spokesman said: “We would like to apologise to our customers for the disruption as a result of the failure of the airport’s baggage system in Terminal Four. We are hoping that everything will be sorted out soon.”
The airline has asked passengers to consider checking in fewer items of hold luggage. Passengers due to fly from Terminal Four are eligible for a refund or can re-book to a different destination or change to a different travel date.
