A security alert at London’s Heathrow Airport has led to delays to several flights and consequently, car hire UK companies operating out of Heathrow.  Airport operator BAA has asked passengers and concerned car hire customers to contact their airlines for further details. 

A man has been arrested in connection with the incident after being spotted on Heathrow’s northern runway just after 2pm today. 

The Queen is due to open the new Terminal 5 building tomorrow.
