Holidaymakers Choose Saving Money Over Saving the Earth

Tune into any news bulletin these days and it’s all ‘carbon conscience this, carbon conscience that’, but according to a new poll by YouGov, the message doesn’t seem to be getting through to the majority of UK holidaymakers.
43% of those polled in the survey say money is the main factor that affects holidaymakers when booking a holiday.
The old stereotype of Scottish people being prudent has been blown out of the water too. According to the survey, Scottish holidaymakers are the least concerned with cost, with 43% saying cultural draws are far more important.
Of the 2,091 people polled, the majority did not see looking after the planet as their top priority, with 23% of 18-24 year olds saying a trip’s carbon footprint was the least of their worries.
