And you thought penalty points for puddles was weird…buoyed on by the UK’s bizarre rainy-day driving law, we thought we’d do some digging to uncover some more of the same. The following are 10 of the world’s strangest driving laws.  Some are a little crazy, some a little unbelievable – all are completely TRUE:

Watch for the Blind Spot

Alabama, USA:  It is illegal for a driver to be blindfolded while driving a vehicle.

Licence to Pee

UK:  A man caught short in public, may urinate in the street only if he aims for his rear wheel and and keeps his right hand on his vehicle.

Absent-Minded Need Not Apply

Australia:  Drivers must not leave car keys in an unattended vehicle.

Strip-Poker Players Need Not Apply

Thailand: It is illegal to drive without a shirt.

Don’t Wake the Sandwiches

Arkansas USA:  It is illegal to sound a car horn where ice-cold beverages or sandwiches are sold after 9pm.
 

Get Your Debussy On

France:  Between the hours of 8 AM and 8 PM, 70% of music played on the radio must have been written by French composers.

Anyone for Fried Skunk?

West Virgina, USA:  Officials have made it perfectly legal for members of the public to scavenge for road kill.

No Soap Zone

Switzerland:  Cars must not be washed on a Sunday.

Yee – haw

Wichita, Kansas USA:  Before entering the intersection of Douglas and Broadway, drivers are required to get out of their vehicle and fire three shot gun rounds into the air.

Don’t Leave Dumbo Unattended

San Francisco, California:  Elephants may not stroll down Market Street unless they are on a leash.
