If you’re picking up your car hire in Alicante Airport and you’re heading for Murcia, there are a few routes from Alicante you can take. Generally speaking though, the route is approximately 75km and should take just 50mins, depending on the time of year you visit.

Although not half as entertaining as having Snoop Dogg barking orders at you (see previous post) these directions should get you home and dry:

Driving east, head up the ramp to Murcia/E -15/Valencia/Elche/N-340/A-7, which merges onto N-338. From here join the E-15/A-7 via the ramp to Torrevieja/A-70/AP-7/Cartagena/Murcia. Follow this route until you come to the A-30 (you’ll see signs for Murcia/A-30/Cartagena). Next, turn off at the q40 exit in the direction of Ronda Norte. You’ll then meet up with the N-340/Autovia del Mediterráneo. Next, take a right turn at Plaza Emilio Díez de Revenga and then turn right at Av de la Libertad. You should then turn right at Gran Vía/Gran Vía del Escultor Francisco Salzillo. Then right at Calle Conde del Valle de San Juan. Take a left turn at Calle Pascual and then the first turn left at Calle Peta Jara Carrillo. From here, drive onto Calle de San Patricio, until finally you see a right turn at Calle de Arenal.
