Important Information Regarding UK Licences
Posted on June 11, 2009 by Fiona Hilliard
Yesterday we received a question from a customer who was confused about why he was asked to bring two documents as part of his UK licence when picking-up his rental car.
Here’s our response:
UK licences issued since July 1998 consist of two parts, a photo ID and a paper counterpart. Old style paper licences are valid until their expiry date, however you must also produce a valid passport or other form of ID alongside these.
New UK licence holders must present both the photo card and its paper counterpart at the time of rental. We cannot rent to UK clients who arrive with only one part of their licence.
Hope this information is of benefit to others out there too!
