Authorities in Switzerland are still scratching their heads in wonder at how an Italian driver managed to chalk up 15 traffic violations during an 11 minute rampage through eastern Switzerland.

Police were first alerted to the driver when his jeep raced past their unmarked car during a thunder storm on Sunday.

After driving almost every other car off the road, he then turned a blind-eye to police who tried to pull him over, firstly with a stop sign and then with flashing lights, sirens and all the bells and whistles.

The man reportedly drove through a construction zone at 87 mph almost twice the speed limit, before being stopped.

When he eventually came to a halt at a roadblock, police nearly ran out of ink trying to document his violations which included driving under the influence of drugs, failing to drive with due car and attention, driving without an MOT and using a mobile phone while driving.
