A Sweet Deal
Jelly Belly Candy Company, famous purveyor of squishy rainbow-coloured jellybeans, has just introduced a new Jelly Belly University Tour. Situated in Fairfield, California, the University can be reached within an hour of the city with San Francisco car hire. Small groups of six enrol at a time, each sporting a uniform of a white coat, gloves and a hairnet. A tour of the factory follows, where they prepare for their Degree in Beanology sampling the latest flavours of jellybeans along the way. At the end of the tour, visitors are presented with a degree and T-shirt. Tours run Monday to Friday and cost $47.
In Search of Nessie
Next month marks the 75th anniversary of the publication of the first photograph of the Loch Ness Monster. Caught on camera by Hugh Grey in 1933, the enigmatic sea monster was first splashed across the front page of the Scottish Daily Record on 8 December 1933. This winter, why not combine your search for Nessie with a tour of the Highlands? Scotland car hire means you’re free to explore the wilds of Glenfinnan and discover the charms of Tobermory. You never know what you might stumble upon!
