Question of the Week: Florence Car Rental
Posted on August 28, 2009 by Fiona Hilliard
Our question of the week comes from a customer called Michael who contacted us with a query regarding Florence car hire.
Michael Says:
Hi,
We (4 of us) are thinking of renting a car from Florence for 2 or 3 days to see the Italian countryside, but we don’t want to drive in the city. What can you suggest? Should we catch a train to a small town near Florence and hire a car and return the car in another small town or pick up near Florence train station. We are arriving in Florence from Venice on 12th around 11.30am by train and we’re hoping to drive to Lucca, Pisa, San Gimignano, Siena, before heading back to Florence. Can you let me know what the best option is for us?

Hi Michael,
Argus Car Hire offers a number of car rental pick-up points in the Florence area, including:
Florence Airport
Finiguerra
Florence Via del Gelsomino
Florence Via Borgognissanti
Florence Via Forlanini
The closest pick-up point to the city’s main train station (where you’ll be arriving from Venice) is located on Via Borgognissanti. This is by far the best option for you. If you pick-up from here you’ll find that the medieval city of Lucca is just a short one-hour drive away.
Enjoy your trip!
