Relief as UK Bank Holiday Airport Strikes Called Off
Posted on August 21, 2008 by Fiona Hilliard
Three Airport strikes planned to take place across the bank holiday weekend have been called off.
The dispute involving workers at airport services company Swissport was due to get underway at Gatwick, Stansted and Manchester Airports next week.
After hours of 12 hours of talks with Acas, Unite union members came to agreement to suspend strike action.
Stansted passengers aren’t out of the woods yet though. Some customers may be affected by delays, as security scanner workers belonging to the GMB union stage a strike on Bank Holiday Monday.
