If you haven’t booked your summer break yet, it’s worth considering a car hire Spain adventure. According to a new report, Spain has the lowest motoring costs in Europe.
According to a recent ‘Motoring on the Continent’ report, those thinking about exploring the Alps with Switzerland car hire won’t fare too badly either. Switzerland is the only other destination in Europe where unleaded petrol costs less than £1 per litre. It’s Spain though that costs the least overall for motoring due to its cheap car hire and low diesel costs.
Meanwhile, its unleaded petrol costs £1 a litre in the euro-zone, Spanish diesel costs 94p a litre making it 26% lower than in the UK.
In terms of car hire, the report showed a massive price difference between European countries. Prices vary from £122 in Spain to £248 in Greece (prices include three days’ rental and 200 miles’ fuel costs). Other cheap options include Portugal car hire and Netherlands car hire.
