St. George’s Car Hire
I am an English Geordie living and working in Ireland.
So what does St. George’s Day mean to me and to you?
St. Patrick’s Day is massive but also in my opinion over commercialised. It has moved away from a day of national pride and identity to more of a commercial acitivity or themed day.

So what about old George? At the moment it is a day we shuffle past with flutterings of “We really should do something”.
My proposal is this - get a promotions team in place / sponsorship deal in place and let’s get George on the map.
Manchester - We will die the river red and have jousting in Old Trafford
Newcastle - Give the Geordies two free beer tickets and that’s enough to keep us happy (for half an hour)
London - A parade of Bull Dogs down towards Buckingham Palace followed by the Queen leading a good old cockney knees up
Bristol - The last royal bastion during the civil war so I suggest face painting and a bouncy castle.
Maybe we need to park St. George up and move on to a new national icon to celebrate our status as a multi cultural society of the 21st Century? I know GMTV ran a little poll this morning on such a theme and one answer was common which we can take and couple with our sponsorship package to give us the ultimate national day next year.
So you heard it first here The Samsung David Beckham Day is on it’s way!
