TAP Strike Threatens Weekend Portugal Flights

Posted on December 16, 2008 by Fiona Hilliard

Heading to Portugal on a last minute winter sun break this Saturday?  Severe delays and cancellations may scupper your plans if strikes by cabin crew for TAP go ahead.

TAP yesterday predicted severe delays and cancellations if the union representing the airline’s cabin crew carry out their planned strike.

Workers plan to down tools on Saturday if the union fails to reach an agreement with management over levels of pay.

Discussions between both sides are ongoing but a spokesman advised British holidaymakers set to travel over the weekend to consider other dates.  Passengers due to fly out on December 20 who wish to change their flights will be eligible to do so free of charge, subject to availability.

Customers who choose to cancel their travel plans can opt for a full refund by contacting either their tour operator or TAP Portugal directly.

If you’re among those affected, Argus Car Hire urges you to keep up with the latest developments by contacting TAP Portugal (O845 601 0932) or visiting the website www.flytap.com/UK.
