Ten Laugh Out Loud Travel Bloggers: Part Two

Posted on January 18, 2012 by Fiona Hilliard

We thought we’d brighten up your Wednesday by introducing you to five more class clowns from the travel blogging community.  So without further ado…

6. Iain Mallory ( Mallory on Travel)

Don’t expect sugar-coated travel tales from real life action man Iain Mallory.  Through his blog, Mallory On Travel, he has fine-tuned the art of casting a cynical eye over popular and obscure travel destinations around the globe. Take his latest post on Cologne’s Bridge of Love Locks for example.  Rather than falling for its romantic charms, taking a few pictures and thinking (awww, isn’t this sweet?!) he wonders whether anyone has ever come back and taken a hammer and chisel to a lock representing their failed romance…if nothing else, it makes you think..!

7. Amanda Williams (A Dangerous Business)

In a former life, Amanda got her kicks out of uncovering the bad grammar and plot lines of Stephanie Meyer’s Twilight books on a blog dedicated to dissing the vampire series. Perfect training it would seem for writing the light-hearted A Dangerous Business travel blog.  The cheeky Ohio native recently spent the night in a prison in Ottawa. Before you jump to conclusions, she wasn’t busted for getting up to ‘dangerous business’ – she paid for the privilege. Sounds like fun, if her account is anything to go by.

8. Candice Walsh (Candice Does the World)

Two words: Crazy chick. The Newfoundland native has already blogged her way around Canada, Europe and South America and she’s not done yet.  Look out for the exuberant redhead as she ticks Germany, Greece and Italy off her travel wish list.

Oh and the best advice from Candice if you’re planning to visit Macchu Picchu: “Bring smelling salts in case you collapse in a dead faint and a llama tries to eat your hair.” We suspect she may be speaking from experience…

 9. Cailin O’ Neil (TravelYourself.ca)

When Canadian travel blogger Cailin O Neil decided she needed a bigger stage than a written blog to share her travel banter, she began making short travel videos on her website TravelYourself.ca.  The videos are gaining in popularity, so much so that they are now being shown on Canada’s Travel TV  website, TravelandEscape.ca.  Her coverage of Spain’s La Tomatina Festival in Spain is not to be missed…

10. Natalie Tran (Lonely Planet)

There’s a reason why Natalie Tran was snapped up by Lonely Planet to video blog her way around the world.  She’s not only funny, she’s fearless. Follow her journey as she wise-cracks her way across the globe via her dedicated Lonely Planet/ Natalie Tran mash-up website. Lucky girl!
