1. Increased Demand in the US:

The current weak economy in the US means many Americans simply can’t afford to travel overseas and are planning domestic holidays this summer.  Already the Automobile Club of New York is reporting reservations are up by as much as 10%.

2. Increased Demand from the Rest of the World

While Americans holiday at home, tens of thousands of Europeans will be cashing in on the weak dollar by planning the road trip of a lifetime across the US this summer. 

3. Rental Car Stocks are Low

Due to the recent downturn in business travel, US car hire companies have cut their fleets by 10% to 20% over the past few years and aren’t showing any signs of rebuilding them.  If you’re planning a road trip in the US, it’s wise to book your car hire early to secure your ideal rental vehicle and avoid the disappointment of being crammed into a less than ideal car.
