Tourists Take a Bigger Bite out of New York
New York added 1.5 million tourists to its visitor numbers last year, according to local tourism body NYC and Company.Â
The city that never sleeps even surpassed perennial favourites Orlando and Las Vegas this year.Â
The weak dollar, lower crime rates and clever marketing have all played their part in attracting foreign tourists across the pond.
NYC and Co predicts the arrival of 47.7 million visitors from around the world in 2008, right on track for Michael Bloomberg’s target of attracting 50 million visitors annually by 2012.
