UK Supermarkets Slash Diesel Prices
Posted on December 09, 2008 by Fiona Hilliard
The price of diesel has dropped to below £1 a litre for the first time in 14 months as UK retailers wage a war on petrol prices.
Supermarket chain Morrisons were the first to make a move, reducing the cost to 99.9p at all its outlets, meaning a drop of five pence.
This represents a 34p cut from when diesel was at its peak in mid-July.
Already, Asda has followed suit by slashing the price of diesel to 99.9p per litre, while BP is getting in on the action too, saying it would match this at some of its 300 company-owned forecourts.
