Now here’s a story to make you smile on a dreary Monday. A couple of Los Angeles car hire customers brought joy to a young boy in Reno when they reunited him with his wallet after discovering it accidentally under the front seat of their rental car vehicle in an airport car park. All together now, “awwww”.

If you think that’s impressive, wait until you hear how they traced him:

The wallet was carrying just a small amount of money, but vitally it contained a library card, detailing important personal information.

For most citizens, this would have surely been a case of finders keepers, but not so for Shannon and Joe Pruitt.  Using contact details from the library card, they called up the director of the boy’s local library who was able to tell the couple that the wallet belonged to the seven-year-old.

Feeling super generous, the couple posted the wallet containing the boy’s cash and library card back to the librarian who was able to hand it over the little boy. The Pruitts slipped an extra $10 (£6)  inside along with a letter to the librarian.  They said they wanted the boy to buy something nice with the money and trust in the human race.
