Weather Warning on UK Roads

Weathermen are forecasting even more snow and sleet across the UK this Christmas, with Scotland predicted to be the heaviest hit over the next few days.
Already, emergency services in the Scottish Highlands have warned people to avoid travelling unless absolutely necessary.
Heavy snowfall in Yorkshire and Cumbria has meant chaos for road users, many of whom have even been forced to abandon their cars.
Driving conditions are dangerous in Greater Manchester especially on the M60 motorway and on secondary roads.
Yesterday, passengers were also held up in Manchester, Heathrow, Gatwick and Bristol airports.
Manchester airport was worst affected, with hundreds of passengers left stranded overnight as snow flurries delayed several flights.
Meanwhile, Friday night’s closure of Calais port has meant gridlock in the south of the country.
The rail situation isn’t much better either. Eurostar has cancelled trains for the third day in a row, as investigations continue into the breakdowns that occurred this weekend.

They actually weren’t halted indefinitely over that period. All the main stations gave out the info, and even after the after all the snow we’ve had, they were still running yesterday. They’re just reduced which makes it safer but doesn’t cancel the services altogether. The main St Pancras website, and all the other station websites say all the info.
