What Do You Fight About in Your Rental Car?
Posted on February 28, 2011 by Fiona Hilliard
We’re assuming here that you have had a row at some stage while driving a rented vehicle. Cone on, there’s no point in lying, when the odds say you have…
According to a survey carried out by Budget Car Rental, three out of four people say that they’ve had a run-in with their travel companion during a road trip.
That’s enough swearing, huffs and strops to never make you want to step into a car again, let alone drive around a foreign country – on the other side of the road.
So what are we all rowing about?
Around one third of those polled said fights broke out over a partner’s awkward driving habits, while 27% of those surveyed pointed the finger at the confined space.
Criticism of a driver’s skills and back-seat driving were also causes of friction between couples while 22% said that their partner’s driving capabilities turned them off getting into a car with them completely.
A bad sense of direction and speeding were two other contributing factors.
Long drives aren’t even to blame either – according to the survey, most rows break out within the first hour on the road…
