Hi Fiona

We’re picking up a car from Manchester Airport on Tuesday December 1.  We’re in town to see the United v Spurs match.  We’ll be staying on to do some Xmas shopping also.  While we have the car, is there anything else we should see in the area?

Hi Rachel & Steve,

The car will definitely come in handy for all those shopping bags.  Manchester is a great place to shop.  Take your pick between the Arndale Centre, the Trafford Centre, The Triangle and Affleck’s place.  Since it’s the festive season, you might also want to take a gander at Manchester’s very own Christmas market which is taking place at  Brazennose Street.  When you’re done with shopping, take a day trip to Chester.  Chester is just a 90-minute drive from Manchester and offers plenty of nice restaurants and cafés, as well as fun attractions like Chester Zoo, Blue Planet Aquarium – and if you’re still in the mood for a bargain, Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet Village.
