Where Do Old Hire Cars Go?
Hire cars are generally new, not normally making it past six months in the fleet from rolling off the production line.
So the question is - Where do they go once they are retired from the fleet?
Not the scrap yard surely?
Well you will be happy to know they get sold off to new owners either through a dealership network or in some cases direct to the consumer by the supplier themselves.
There is a common misconception that ex car hire vehicles will be shabby, damaged or out of condition presumably from the view that every renter goes out fo their way to trash their rental cars. Dukes of Hazzard style leaps over the speed bumps and handbreak turns normally only seen on a Herbie movie.
This is actually far from the truth with suppliers regularly servicing their vehicles their vehicles, parts are replaced when they are needed and finally with an excess hanging over them you will find rental car drivers taking it easy.
So if you are out for a bargain why not check out what the car hire supplier’s have retired from their fleets. You will find the prices considerably cheaper than market value and I am sure you will find a car for your needs.
Avis UK for example even have an online list of the cars available at this time - so click here to see what’s on offer.
