Where to find the Cheapest Petrol in Europe

Posted on August 07, 2008 by Fiona Hilliard

Not only are Britons experiencing some of the worst downpours in Europe this summer, but UK drivers are also facing daylight robbery at the petrol pumps according to a new survey by uSwitch.

While Brits handed over an average of £1.19 (€1.50) a litre for petrol last month, Spanish drivers paid just 96p (€1.22).

Petrol and diesel prices were also cheaper in Germany, France and Italy.  Meanwhile, in Spain, petrol stations charged just £1 (€1.26) a litre for diesel, compared with £1.33 (€1.68) per litre in the UK.
